      ಚಳ್ಳಕೆರೆ ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಮಾಹಿತಿ

  ಚಳ್ಳಕೆರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ(ಪುರಸಭೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ)ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಈ ಕೆಳಕಂಡಂತೆ ಇದೆ.ಚಳ್ಳಕೆರೆ ಪುರಸಭೆಯು 1906ರ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಪುರಸಭೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ.ಬೀದರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ 13 ಚಳ್ಳಕೆರೆಯ ಮಧ್ಯಭಾಗದಿಂದ  ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ.ಚಳ್ಳಕೆರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗದಿಂದ 30ಕಿ.ಮಿದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ 200ಕಿ.ಮಿ  ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಚಳ್ಳಕೆರೆಯ ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣ = 26 ಚ.ಕಿ.ಮಿ ಇದ್ದು. ಪಟ್ಟಣದ  ಒಟ್ಟು  ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ = 49,069 (2001ರ  ಜನಗಣತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ) .ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಜನ ವ್ಯಪಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃಷಿ ಸಾಮಾನು ಖರೀದಿಗಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಕೆಲಸ, ಸಂತೆಯ ವ್ಯಾಪರ ವಹಿವಾಟು  ನಡೆಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ನಿತ್ಯ ಬಂದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ ಕೋಟೆ ನಾಯ್ಕನಹಟ್ಟಿಯ ತಿಪ್ಪೇರುದ್ರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ, ವೀರಭದ್ರಸ್ವಾಮಿ   ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ   ಹತ್ತಿರದಲ್ಲಿ  ಇರುವ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.

  Challakere, a taluk headquarters in Chitradurga district is one of the fastest growing towns in the district having trade and commerce as its main activity. The town is well connected by road network with two state highways namely, Chitradurga-Pavagada road and Bangalore-Bellary (S.R.Patna-Bidar) and passing through the town and a broad-gauge railway line, Chitradurga-Rayadurga passing through the town connecting the town to the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh . Bellary, Chitradurga and Davanagere are the major nearby cities. The town has no perennial water source and solely depends on ground water and tanks for domestic and agricultural activity.

  The economy of the town is centered on Oil Processing Industry and with trade and commerce, indicating that there is scope for participation of labours in industrial sector (oil industry) and Agriculture sector.The Population of the town has increased from 38,369 in 1991 to 49,067 in 2001.

Computerisation : Properties within Challakere TMC limits have been identified & details have been collected & Computerisation of records is under progress. Citizens can avail this facility to pay property tax shortly. Birth & Death records are available online from the year 1996. Citizens can make use of this facility to register & obtain Birth & Death Certificates. 24x7 public grievances redressal cell is opening in the office citzen make use of this by registering the complaint by phone No. 08195-250097. GIS Property tax based system is made online shortly. 

ಘನತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಕುರಿತು :-

 ಚಳ್ಳಕೆರೆ ಪುರಸಭಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ನಿತ್ಯ ಸುಮಾರು 17 ಟನ್ ಘನ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು ಉತ್ಪತ್ತಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಪುರಸಭೆಯು ನೆಲ ಭರ್ತಿ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 5 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಪುರಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 32 ಜನ ಪೌರಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯ ಸುಮಾರು 16 ಟನ್ ಘನತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ನೆಲಭರ್ತಿ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ 3 ಟ್ರ್ಯಾಕ್ಟರ್ ಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಸಾಗಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ವಾರ್ಡ್ ನಂ.13 ರಿಂದ ವಾರ್ಡ್ ನಂ. 27 ರವರೆಗೆ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು,  ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಟ್ಟು 18 ವಾರ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ  ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಪೌರ ಘನತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ 2000 ನಿಯಮಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
